Either of you could have made worthless sacrifices in the past that caused you to lash out in anger or frustration. It may have involved issues around children, fatherhood, success, or authority (yours or others). If there’s been a reversal in the state of happiness as of late, perhaps it’s due to a self-oriented desire to push things forward before the time is right. When you stop getting so burned up about situations, you’ll stop burning yourself out and stop getting burned. Either of you may need to reconsider expectations and whether they were ever realistic.
