Unemployment, deprivation, infidelity, excessive demands, or health concerns compel action in the interest of self-preservation or personal advancement. It’s hard to tell if you’re on the same team when one of you feels abandoned or left out in the cold. But is your current conflict caused by an outside opponent or the enemy within? Who’s playing the role of instigator or mediator? Frustration and/or bad decisions now drive events and can dictate negative behavior that undermines an important goal or triggers disagreement in the group due to divided loyalties. The challenge is to realize that spiritual or material values don’t have to be mutually exclusive–balance means being a slave to neither. Despite an uncertain outcome, you no longer have the luxury of doing what comes easy. If your gut says choosing the path of least resistance is wrong–it probably is.
