Daily Tarot: Two of Swords

“One must verify or expel his doubts, and convert them into the certainty of Yes or No.” Thomas Carlyle

You may not be very authoritative today and could be prone to fence-sitting. There is difficulty caused by the tendency to waffle with indecision regarding multiple opportunities. This stalemate can cause irrational fears or anxiety to crop up at inopportune moments. It could be that you are not acknowledging repressed emotions and placing barriers between you and others. You may feel paralyzed by doubt and uncertainty which in turn causes you to take the path of least resistance. It’s too easy to rely on a temporary solution that gives the illusion of change. On the other hand, perhaps this momentary pause can be used as an effective strategy while you gather more information, wait for answers or results to your efforts. Use any restlessness by channeling energy into a constructive outlet. Should you become impatient, it’s possible that you will allow your frustration to take over. As a result, you may sabotage an important endeavor through your words, actions or attitude. A concerted effort at working solely toward your own self-interest may instigate quarrels with or between others.

However, there is always the possibility that any hesitancy can place you in the passenger seat while others do the driving and make decisions for you.  The temptation to do nothing may create regretful circumstances you’ll have to address later at some point. If you’re stuck in a struggle, it may be necessary for mediation. The olive branch in the center of the card suggests that getting centered with your true feelings can help you gain both inner and outer peace. Make a decision and everything will move forward again.
