Shooting it Straight – Fire Signs|Jan 20-25, 2020

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

One of you is keeping a secret or is in the dark about a matter–but not for long. Someone is shining a light on a situation that will make clear what’s clearly wrong. That means a strong reality check where either of you have been less than truthful with each other or with self. While you may be out of sync, you’ll eventually need to cooperate if you have any hope of shaking off the plagues of the past to stop projecting the fears lodged deeply within your own psyche. Events could play out through a fluctuating circumstance tied to maternal connections, children, travel, or psychological changes rooted in past conditioning. After a thorough examination of the cracks, you may realize that the foundation needs shoring. That’s better than having the roof cave in.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Would you like some help?

An opportunity could arrive to wield a little more influence over matters if one of you has the mastery to maintain a check of ego. But if either of you aren’t able to forego your fears or misplaced frustration, insecurities could trigger a disappointing dilemma, especially if you can’t see your own contribution to the problem. The answer may be to let go, rather than trying to start over. There’s a cautionary note about going to extremes physically, emotionally, or materially either due to a lack of confidence or way too much. A persistent obsession for pursuing less than you deserve or the inability to harness baser instincts will (re)create situations to remind you that you can still do better by both giving and being your best.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Feelings are not your friend.

John Burroughs, the American naturalist, once said, “Leap and the net will appear.” Perhaps you should be cautious in subscribing to that idea. While a prudent leap of faith is needed to transform a situation, if matters are not repaired or clarified, death could be inevitable. The level of commitment is now in question due to recent unsettling circumstances that either of you may be ill-prepared to deal with. You’re entering a new phase of metamorphosis meant to move you in a direction that makes you responsible for your own success and happiness. You can’t get there by fooling yourself about reviving what’s dead by just waiting for something to change, especially when one of you is already looking for the exit sign. The power over the past comes from mourning and then moving on.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

It ain’t over, til it’s over.
