There’s a limit to how much you can give. Perhaps you’d like to either offer a shield or use one to protect yourself. You might even have difficulty distinguishing between the two. One thing’s for sure, it’s time to pour your heart out and have serious, honest discussions about getting some help, especially if old habit patterns and the inability to compromise means that one of you has been getting the short end. While you might not be on the same page, you at least need to be reading the same book. That could mean striking the delicate balance between the spiritual and the material, work and home, and deciding whether you’re really compatible, or even in alignment with yourself. Unhappy alliances can only be healed through true generosity of spirit, time, emotions, money, and love. If you can’t right the scales between you, one of you will remain at the mercy of the other. The truth is one of you will either have to break a bad habit or break the bank.

Are you in or out? One of you is not interested in settling or settling down. Sure, there have been promises made, but not much else. Perhaps neither of you can agree or one of you is simply untrustworthy. Either way, efforts at communicating have stalled due to insensitivity, regrets, or the refusal to accept new ideas (especially if they’re not yours). Travel, agreements, or legal situations could be a part of the upcoming agenda. Before you got to this point, there may have been a fair amount of arguing, sarcasm, and the need to dominate the dialogue. Now either of you could be stressed out from over-analyzing what the changes in the current dynamic between the two of you really means. To push forward, you’ll have to gain some clarity and get to the truth, especially if one of you has misrepresented intentions in the interest of self(ishness). You’ll need to do so fairly quickly as timing is an issue. With the stakes this high, you can’t afford to miss the mark.

Maybe you’d rather just walk away from an argument or a stunning truth. Revelations have hit the light of day and you’re having to maintain your emotional balance in the midst of what appeared to be solid plans or a relationship that’s now falling apart. Of course, you’re not exactly a victim here. On some level, you’ve played a role and perhaps the real disappointment was your own pursuit of a false ideal. As a result, circumstances could be putting pressure on either of you to leave a disappointing situation, let go, and cut ties. And while freedom comes at a considerable price, the tyranny or injustice of the alternative is no longer tolerable either. Until you sort out how to reconstruct a secure foundation on better ground, you may decide to spend more time alone looking over the architectural plans.
