An air of intellectual superiority might suck either of you into straddling the line between offering unsolicited advice or rejecting offers of help. As a result, there’s hesitancy in connecting on a deeper emotional level, especially if you can’t get past old hurts or transgressions. Situations may leave one of you feeling alone, cut off, or rejected when decisions are made solely from a logical standpoint. But distancing yourself from love doesn’t make you more capable, just more culpable for hurting others.
