Shooting it Straight – Air Signs/July 1-5

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

Are you waiting for romance or making too many sacrifices to keep one? You’d like to wield a little more influence over a situation and make someone come around to your way of thinking. Yet things seem to be up in the air because of one of you is not committed to putting in the required effort to strengthen this relationship. Perhaps it’s fear or doubt related to past situations that keeps you vulnerable and unable to open to new possibilities. Maybe you need to regain strength–emotionally or physically. In any case, there’s a sense that to stay in the relationship in its current state, one of you has to be something other than the authentic self. Calling a time out could give you some ideas about how to approach this situation from a different angle. Maybe you gave it your best, but still you could probably do better. If you’re playing the role of bully and passing out the blame, you might fail to see where self-sabotage was a contributing factor in your circumstance. Perhaps you’re getting in your own way with obsessions, compulsions, or addictive behaviors that are destructive, both to the relationship and to self. If that’s the case, you could be waiting a very long time. Someone’s changed their mind about a situation because of so much disappointment or dissatisfaction.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Is it worth waiting for or how much is worth to wait?

Someone’s growing despondent about circumstances. A consciousness of lack, real or perceived, is now taking a toll on the relationship. One of you has lost faith in a situation that makes you feel rejected, abandoned, or incompatible due to the constant nagging, nit-picking, or criticism. Money, bills, working long hours, fatal attractions, or the lack of appropriate values–you know, all that heavy life stuff–are part and parcel of the complexities that now threaten both your peace of mind as well as your physical well-being. A few situations that went completely awry and off-track almost seem like more than you can handle, especially where finding the right balance between work and home as been all but impossible. But it’s time to devote more attention to your personal relationship. That means pampering yourself and putting more emphasis on the little things that make you attractive to each other. You still remember how, don’t you?

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Let’s work doesn’t have to mean at the office. (wink)

Do you really want to go it alone? Are you listening to advice? Are you going over old ground where a dead issue is coming back to life? Either you or a partner’s judgment is way off and it’s causing both a review and a redo. Perhaps one of you fails to see how the other one is suffering, and consequently, the need to do something about it. Patience is a virtue, procrastination is not. If you don’t take care of business on the front end, you’ll be greeted at the back door until you start to deal with all of those loose ends you’ve been putting off. That may very well mean a ruthless approach of turning your back on situations that have caused you pain, hardship, or loss. You’ve been given a second crack at something to do a self-check-in and determine whether you’ve upped your own game since the last go round. Winner takes all when and if you’re able to admit to mistakes from an intellectual rather than emotional standpoint and understand that certain things are unavoidable. That “thing” that feels like it’s at death’s door could be making an enormous comeback. “Still, I rise.”

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Use your head.
