For some, opportunity, personal or professional, actually depends on connecting with community and breaking out of a self-imposed shell. Work can get in the way of socializing or attempts at romance, particularly if one of you is consumed by career demands and the other is carrying more of the load in trying to make the relationship work.
However, in some cases, socializing feels burdensome or may require multi-tasking, especially if you’re playing host or it’s tied to a work function. On the other hand, perhaps you’re so overtaxed with life that you can’t find the motivation or energy for social niceties. If you’ve been weighted down by commitments, it may be time to lighten up or the pressure of your endeavors could take a toll on your relationships. Depending on perspective, someone’s either climbing a mountain or making one out of a molehill.
