2023-2024| Happy Birthday, Virgo!
Virgo, this solar year (2023-24) will evolve from the heartbreak of loss and painful experiences that, nevertheless, offer growth. The poet Rainer Marie Rilke wrote, “Rose, against whom did you assume those thorns? Did your too delicate joy force you to become that armed thing?” The danger for you is allowing the wounds to become walls that put you outside of your own spiritual center. In the words of a Dutch proverb, “He who would gather roses must not fear thorns.” Pain is part and parcel of life, and while you need the time for grieving you must put things into proper perspective to begin anew. At times you may feel that your progress is blocked by the brambles that keep you grievously aware of all that you’ve been through, but this card is a cautionary warning to take the steps to remove the root of your suffering before it gets worse. This is the year to review what is harmful instead of helpful and the need to walk away from a toxic or abusive relationship, an unrewarding job or career, or an unhealthy lifestyle. What once appeared so promising may need to be reevaluated to make way for fresh inspiration and it’s the deepest, cleanest cut that yields the biggest blooms.
