Mercury enters Aries

March 18 – April 2, 2023

Mercury has moved into Aries marking a decidedly different approach to mental activity than the quixotic influence of Pisces. The nature of the cardinal sign of Aries emphasizes taking action through Mercury’s use of constructive intellect and keen powers of observation. Here the mind is quick and active enabling you to swiftly learn or grasp the essence of a matter. However, it’s possible to operate in overdrive resulting in nervousness and mental overwork. An example would be the kind of mental gymnastics of the mind that keeps you up at night replaying dialogue and formulating every possible outcome with the fervor of a military strategist.

The rapid-fire relay between thought and speech can also prompt a retort without forethought–“them there’s fightin’ words.” This isn’t a placement for mincing words and exchanges can serve the purpose of criticism with biting wit and sharp language. Expect people to be a bit more direct, assertive, and even aggressive in how they speak. Being quick on the draw can get literal with a call to arms when situations incite parties to be combative and the first thought is to draw blood through violence–knives, guns. News related to the military or war is likely to dominate at this time.

And speaking of quick, look out for the fast talker who’s looking to use dishonesty to sell, persuade, or exploit. Additionally, the speed of information delivered or received may be an important factor in circumstances. In fact, this transit highlights a fascination with speed–fast cars, breaking records, or people involved in the sport of speed–race car drivers, runners, etc.

For some, the focus is a medical issue related to blood or the need for lab work.
