Shooting it Straight – Fire Signs|Oct 21 – 25, 2019

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

Does one of you have a habit of avoiding taking responsibility? There’s a need to take your time or to use it more wisely to accomplish something, rather than going back and forth or coming up with schemes. It’s time to decide what the priorities are and become more deliberate in the focus toward a goal. You may be working to transform your relationship, renew the connection, relocating as a couple, or moving out alone. Whatever it is, the demands of change are making one of you feel guarded, overburdened, and taken advantage of. Paranoia coupled with unexpressed feelings are putting a strain on the relationship and taking a toll. But the problem could be excessive pride in the assumption that only you can “do it right” which means you end up doing it all. The lesson for one of you is learning not to allow the partner to brow beat you into doing things you later regret. On the other hand, recent dealings could have revealed that one of you is less than honest. If so, you’ll have to bear the load.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Pack it up.

Which one of you is trying to be both judge and jury? Perhaps it’s a good idea to review any habits that have thrown life out of balance, yet there’s also a tendency to lose sight of what’s left to salvage from a situation. If one of you continues to indulge in a never-ending pity party, it’ll be all but impossible to right the scales, pick up the pieces, and start over. Someone needs to decide if they want to live in yesterday or the present, because the obsessive focus on everything that’s gone wrong in the past is blocking what could go right for the future. That means letting go of a belief in loss that becomes a self-perpetuating prophecy. One of you will have to stop blaming everything on the outside and tend to the inner. At this point, you’ll either have to resolve your differences with a partner or call it a day.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Alright already!

Someone’s finding it difficult to gain their authority. Could be a lack of faith in self, the partner, or a situation outside of your power. Perhaps a series of unfortunate events is playing out like an adult Lemony Snicket book–setbacks, financial difficulties, deprivation, insecurities–that you feel are no fault of your own. As such, one of you certainly isn’t in the mood for advice you feel has no relevant correlation to your circumstances. But while challenging situations are making you feel that life is never going to improve, that’s true only if you continue to focus on problems as opposed to solutions. On the “rare” occasion that things play out as planned, don’t sabotage it with a tendency for anxiety and foreboding fears. If there’s something desired in your field of vision, perhaps it’s the mixed signals you’re sending out or the reluctance to go after it that’s keeping you handicapped.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Procrustean solution.
