Shooting it Straight – Water Signs/Sept 23-27

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

Let there be light. Perhaps one of you sees it and becomes a believer. But of what? Recent events have shed light on a situation where you were seeking answers or considering a multitude of factors. One of you may have had to withdraw in order to find explanations. Perhaps you’re taking this time out to gain peace of mind and review your commitment and what’s expected of you. If you’re able to detach from the emotional (uh, you’re a Cancer), this pause may prove extremely productive in gaining self-awareness and seeing a partner in a different light, especially if either of you are taking notice of ongoing inconsistencies. There’s a tendency to push the trigger button to prove how much each of you knows and who’s got the better advice. But these win-lose propositions will eventually lead to emotional isolation or loneliness, particularly when all that “good information” doesn’t lead to any constructive action. You’ll either have to recognize the “holy truth” when you see it or speak it.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

It speaks for itself.

And no other lover can compare. When I give my love to you… Yeah, those pretty words are from a song by Michael Franks, but you could be changing your own tune right about now. In fact, one of you has reached a limit and could be holding back on words, affection, or devotion due to differences or because you were challenged. This may have started with a terrible argument or some form of rejection that left either of you feeling broken-hearted, unfulfilled, or toyed with. On the other hand, maybe you haven’t gotten over someone because you failed to take the relationship in a new direction when you needed to. Second chances won’t come without effort and even if they were to, old habits will sabotage without the resolve to do better.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Still waiting for the goods to arrive (like you said they would).

It pays to move on when the tide turns. The wheels of fate are pushing you past a negative situation, but not without first guiding you through turbulent waters. Recent events have taken matters in a new direction for better or worse and may place you at the helm of a situation. Do you feel lucky, (punk)? Which one of you is playing Clint Eastwood and who’s staring down the barrel of a proverbial gun? Either of you may be on the receiving end of karma for abusive behavior and toxic habits that demand payment of retribution when the pendulum swings the other way. In spite of feeling like you’re off the charted course, don’t take any luck for granted (no matter how small) or you could miss the boat. There’s a change in the wind and it’s the little things that count now. Be patient–there are opportunities in the distance that could improve your situation, especially if you’re willing to soak in some constructive criticism to do it better this time around.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

You’re the captain.
