Shooting it Straight – Earth Signs/Sept 23-27

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

Wake up and get out of that rut you’re in! You need to do something else–not the same thing you keep doing again and again like the one trick pony you’re in danger of becoming. Are you reading the fine print or missing the subtext altogether? Perhaps it’s all too easy to stick your head in your work or keep your nose to the grindstone rather than deal with “it.” Maybe you feel you’ve got to keep cranking it out (money, time, emotions, work) to keep up with the demands, the constant emergencies, or just to stay alive (physically, emotionally). On the other hand, perhaps there’s someone in your life whose constant criticism questions your judgment, in turn, causing you to question yourself. Now you’re wondering if your efforts will actually produce any gains or if you’ve just bought into a false security. There’s an important decision to be made about taking action and focus is key because one of you is working off some karma where winner takes all.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

At what price?

Someone needs to think about where a situation was pushed too far and how you can heal or compromise. Perhaps one of you didn’t know the limits until they were tested. Now nothing moves forward unless and until those important discussions take place. Maybe you’re sick of trying to make an incompatible union work or else trying to figure out the perfect words to make it work. You know, where you have to tell–the truth, if only to yourself. Directness will do nicely, thank you very much, although sometimes you kill them with your bluntness (or vice versa). It’s not necessary for you to agree on every point, but a situation is dead in the water if you can never find the middle ground. If you expect to recover from this, stop dawdling and start doing. Someone’s going overboard when they need to be above board.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Well-healed or well-heeled?

Perhaps one of you is satisfied to turn your back on a situation because you’re focused on growing–and they’re not. Either of you may be taking, but giving very little back due to a sense of entitlement. Someone may have been slacking on handling business or taking care of responsibilities while instead devoting more time to pleasure and what “feels good.” As a result, the bottom line for this relationship may come down to the dollar. But there’s a distinct difference between being shrewd and being a shrew. Certainly one of you is currently seeking answers to very important questions about whether time and resources have been spent as expected. Nasty accusations or rumors threaten to create damage, especially when one of you supersedes the others authority. But someone’s turning an about-face when the price of distraction or involvement becomes too costly.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Value judgment.
