Shooting it Straight – Air Signs/Aug 26-30

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

They say the devil is in the details. At first glance something seems simple, but a further look suggests more time and effort than anticipated. Perhaps this is in regard to some form of restriction that must be overcome–a delay or challenge in regard to information, being alone, money, health, age, or an ex. A stressful or crisis-oriented situation is triggering a confrontation about who’s the supposed “authority” on a matter. For one of you, the instinct to survive is kicking in and prompting questions about what you’ve been told versus what you’ve observed. Unfortunately, someone may be turning away from good advice or acting illogically. This makes it impossible for one of you to see and hear the truth objectively about how an obsession, addiction, or unhealthy behavior is affecting the relationship. The end result could be a rude reality check and the realization of what you may be obligated or responsible for. It dawns on one of you that you’ve been exploited or that you need to deal with unfounded fears about the potential for such.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

If the truth be known.

Are you starting to feel the burden of getting passed over in lieu of getting what you feel you deserve or is one of you confused about what real need is versus taking advantage? Is someone else getting the love and attention that belongs to you? Perhaps either of you may be dismissive of the merits of good advice or knowledgeable experience that could improve the situation. On the other hand, someone needs to examine the motives for “helping” and whether it’s driven by the real desire to keep a partner on their knees and at their mercy. The difficulty is a playing field that isn’t equal and where mutual give and take isn’t recognized. As a result, either of you may feel stressed and anxious because of unsatisfied needs and desires. Maybe this is due to the refusal to ask for help when needed or because one of you is adamant about controlling the love, affection, or money that is metered out. But eventually, what goes around, comes around. At some point, it’s possible for a role reversal, especially when one of you gets tired of doing a lot for a little.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Damage control.

Either of you may shut down when faced with passive-aggressive behavior. Perhaps there’s been some selfishness in a situation where one of you has been denied satisfaction and emotions are running high whether expressed or not. One of you needs to examine what success really means and whether you’re getting too caught up in ambitions, pleasure, or the material while closing off to opportunities that would afford greater closeness. But someone does have a self-serving habit of going too far that needs to be addressed. If that’s you, don’t be too smug in your overestimation of self or a situation–any conceit or vanity is likely to catch up to you. In fact, leaving common sense behind and pushing the boundaries in pursuit of a temptation is becoming problematic in some way, especially when ego or ethics are involved. The fallout is likely to manifest as family disagreements, estrangement, rebellion, or disruption.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?
