Shooting it Straight – Fire Signs/Aug 5-9

Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). The advice is irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. You know who you are! If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

Something about the relationship has caused one of you to shut down and turn off. A disappointment or disillusionment with a circumstance has resulted in someone becoming so completely jaded and apathetic that they refuse to accept any valid opportunities to make positive change. It’s likely that one of you has some deep disapproval of the other that plays out as condemnation. Perhaps it started due to the uncertainty and stress that often accompanies illness, pain, guilt, addiction, or just plain regret for poor choices. Whatever it is, a cloud of negativity is hovering over you and clouding your judgment. Complaints and complacency make for fine bedfellows, but isn’t it time to get up and do something about all of this unhappiness? You’ll have to face up to a necessary face-off to bring something out into the open. Where’s the mirror?

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Time for sh#t to get real.

Do you have enough passion to revive a situation? A higher power is at work either to bring something alive or to close it out for dead. One of you will have to give up control and surrender to major changes and an irrevocable ending of some sort. This unsettling transition will make way for a personal metamorphosis, although in the interim, things could get rather uncomfortable, especially if either of you are attempting to hold on to an outmoded situation or playing a con game. A dying relationship or situation is signaling the inevitable and paving the way for a new cycle that will serve you far better. Both of you will have to sort through the debris of your former identities to rise again in a decision to either release or reinvent the relationship. This may be to change who you are in the context of previous limitations related to sexuality, money, crisis, or your own psyche. Freedom comes at a price.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

I don’t want to be alone, I want to be left alone. (Audrey Hepburn)

Feeling just about ready to jump ship? You need a life boat. Perhaps you keep searching for an easy way out to leave a troubling situation that has caused a considerable amount of stress. But if the boat is taking on water, it may be that you’re not telling the “hull” truth. A recent discovery reveals that something you thought was watertight has changed and is now giving way to rough waters. Everyone in your crew is not on the same boat–if you get my drift. You’ve made some choices both in situations and alliances that have ended up being emotionally disappointing because they left you feeling stranded. You need to strike out–not at others, but on your own–in search of new territory. Not until you decide to get on with your life and sail away from people or situations that continuously try to take you for a ride will you find smoother waters. You’ll fare far better at sea by circumnavigating anyone pirating your peace of mind.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Deal with your drama.
