Shooting it Straight: Fire Signs/May 6-10

Hey, you’re human and humans make mistakes. That doesn’t mean you can’t self-correct. Here’s a heads-up on the challenge or obstacle you’re likely to face in your love relationship this week (problem) and what’s at the root of it (action). And just like a shot of good, straight tequila, we’ll chase it down with a little lemon and salt–advice that’s irreverent, a bit cheeky, unfiltered and admittedly brazen. The message is putting either you or your partner on notice. I’ll leave which one of you up to you to decide. If you’re offended by the truth or strong language–stop here.

You may have a strong earth influence, be involved with an earth sign person (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) or someone who is extremely focused on business or the material world. At the root of your issue, there’s some emotional or financial clutter, possibly due to a bit of selfishness. Maybe you’re talking about a large purchase or plans for the future and the problem starts when either of you becomes too controlling or critical. Themes may center on whether the investment in a goal is worthy of time, energy, money or attention. One of you may feel that the other has usurped authority, power or position. Even if you’re looking ahead, you’ll need to focus first on being present today and the current responsibilities that come with it. You can’t meet the goal unless both of you feel comfortable about sharing your ideas and being open to receive some feedback.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

Shut up! You don’t know everything–and I say that with love.

Is one of you missing motivation for the relationship and a bit too enthusiastic about work? Is work or bills a factor and threatening your safety net as a couple? Is there a desire to work to improve your connection? You may be in a rut right now having the same conversations and following the same deadening routine. Perhaps your habits are comfortable but it’s killing the sexy vibe. Without even realizing it your relationship has changed–and not necessarily for the better. Now you may be obsessing in fear about negative possibilities that center on trust. Either one of you may be too focused on the details or failing to see them. Nit-picking, nagging and criticism won’t make your partner excited to see you but some small changes in the way you relate could. Get away from the desk, stop crunching the numbers and get out a little. Opening your heart a little more can help also.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

I say black, you say white. We’ll have to agree on gray.

Does the past hold sway over your current circumstances? Are there financial burdens or travel issues that affect your relationship? Is family or past conditioning having influence over the future? It’s time to do some restructuring financially and emotionally to turn the karmic wheel in your favor. Be willing to take a risk but don’t gamble the farm away. That may mean changing some long-standing ties, closing out some inherited cycles, patterns of behavior, or rejecting tradition. Your relationships are currently undergoing a transition and whether you realize it or not, you set these wheels in motion. Sometimes not getting what you think you want is the blessing. If your alliance is not based on being “in it to win it”, then release it. Set your sights on the long-term and building security for yourself and a partner who’s good for the long haul.

And what is it that either of you may need to know but don’t really want to hear?

It’s all or nothing, baby! Get in or get the %#& out.
