Daily Tarot: Knight of Swords

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” George Bernard Shaw

Your communication can be the key to either solving problems or creating them. In the best case scenario, mental sharpness allows you to view the big picture, examine ideas and make quick-fire decisions. You may be advocating a belief or seeking resolution, but strong logic allows for innovation in mental challenges. If involved in negotiations or motivated to close an important deal, it’s likely that you won’t take no for an answer. Should you be lacking in some area of knowledge, you make seek out others who can offer professional advice, protection or insights. This may mean consulting with those in communication fields or whose work involves solving problems–computer expert, product designer, professor, financial agent, technician, or repair person. Alternatively, you may be dealing with those in action, crisis, or dispute-oriented careers–soldiers, attorneys or law enforcement.

However, assertion and aggression are two different energies. There can be pleasure in proving others wrong. False bravado may encourage recklessness or impulsive risk-taking. Perhaps you feel that your solution is the only solution and choose to impose your ideas on others with unfavorable results. You may demand complete freedom for self, yet impose restrictions on a partner. On the flip side, others could be pushy or possessive. Beware of shady characters and unpredictable circumstances that trigger adverse consequences. Someone may be ruthlessly working to undermine you through gossip or underhanded behavior. If situations require you to wield a sword, make sure you don’t cut yourself.
