Daily Tarot: The Garden

“The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.”  Confucius

You have reached the final goal and the end of a cycle. Success and a sense of fulfillment are rightfully yours–you have earned it. This period heralds a new beginning and fresh frontiers of experience to discover. There is a readiness to begin anew and you may be traveling, transitioning into a different job, residence, or expanding your horizons in any number of ways. You realize that change is in order and that means releasing negative habit patterns, co-dependent behavior and old resentments. It also means being tolerant of others whose background and viewpoint differ vastly from your own. Starting over grants you permission to decide what is right for you by saying no to anything beyond your capabilities.

However, in some cases, success is delayed until you address unfinished business. You may be resistant to change or unwilling to face the future. If this is the case, you’ll find any new resolutions difficult to uphold without true intention supporting your efforts. You may feel bored or stagnant but taking shortcuts or resorting to schemes rather than doing the work necessary to tie up loose ends will only yield an unsatisfactory outcome. Gardens must be cultivated to reap the harvest. This card suggests you must finish what you start or resign yourself to remaining in a rut.
