Daily Tarot: Five of Cups

“While grief is fresh, every attempt to divert only irritates. You must wait till it be digested, and then amusement will dissipate the remains of it.”  Samuel Johnson

There is grief, a sense of loss, or unhappiness in your world and someone is inconsolable because of it. At this moment, there is only sadness, disappointment and regret as emotions overshadow the ability to remain hopeful. Perhaps you feel abandoned or betrayed by those closest to you or simply burned out by repetitively negative circumstances. Situations create self-doubt forcing you to question choices and goals, as well as whether you have the support of those around you. As unsettling as things seem, the Universe is providing a means of self-correction. Are you getting involved with people or participating in behaviors that have a history of letting you down? Are you setting yourself up for failure? What you do not realize is that there is something to be salvaged, namely by changing your perspective. You cannot reside in the present moment, or plan for a better future, while gazing in the rear. Today requires that you stop practicing negative manifestation. Your expectations create the reality for better or worse, especially if you’ve been too reliant on others or vice versa. Take the lemons in your life and pour yourself a tall glass of lemonade.
