1st Quarter Moon in Aries

December 29, 2022 | 5:20 pm (PST) | Keyword: Gaining

The moon is swift in motion and moving through the cardinal sign of Aries while stoking the emotional need for action, independence, and the desire to be first. This cycle prompts you to trail-blaze new paths that take your career, life path, or social status in a new direction. This is the right time to act boldly, try something new, make a change, take a stand, or travel. These efforts can bring beneficial changes in the professional sphere and important shifts in job responsibilities that may include involvement with the public or a move to public service. The influence also provides positive stimulation for any kind of public relations work, promotions, or sales. Generally, it’s an excellent period to focus on career development and any opportunities that present. The activities that take place are likely to center on persons with strong Aries in the natal chart (sun, moon, or rising sign).

As you begin to take on a more prominent role, your reputation becomes more significant in how others perceive you. This can impact your privacy making it difficult to hide certain facts about yourself due to positive or negative publicity you receive as a result of greater public notice or company recognition because of job performance. You may be drawn to a field of work that requires you to address the more difficult, challenging, or unseemly side of life. Alternatively, you may have occult interests or offer a prophetic vision to the world.

Strong survival instincts make you a strong competitor, and in some cases, a formidable opponent. The tension you experience can be the byproduct of an obsessive dedication to your goals to the point of ruthlessness. The current energy doesn’t support the start of a partnership, marriage, or other actions that require compromise. In fact, events can trigger repressed emotions that have been locked under tight control making it difficult to reign in impulsive behavior or think before acting, especially if you feel personal goals are threatened. However, it’s important to use sensitivity in dealing with others and trust yourself to be vulnerable. You need to be direct yet diplomatic in conveying your wants and needs while enlisting the support of others to help you further your goals.

On the other hand, your response to stress may be to withdraw and spend time alone. If you repress the urge for independence, others may claim dominance over you resulting in a loss of power that makes you insecure and resentful.

Negatively, job security may be of concern if your position or employer conditions become unstable. It’s also the end of a monetary cycle where you may either file bankruptcy or finally pull out of debt. This could also signify the end of a pattern involving real estate with a new financial cycle approaching on the horizon.  Most changes are directly or indirectly within your control and arrive as a result of your own influence.

The tendency is to defend family and close emotional bonds as well as follow strong protective instincts where finances are concerned. However, delays and blockages indicated by interception in the home/career axis suggest that challenges to finding the right balance between home and career can also be problematic as a restless energy incites you to be more impulsive than usual where domestic and family affairs are concerned.

A strong sentimentality may correlate to the Part of Mother(a point of astrological calculation) in opposition to the apex of this chart as an indication of how you relate to and are affected by your mother or someone who is like a mother to you and the consequential impact on decisions surrounding career, status, your own role as a parent, or your place in the world.

Of special note is this chart’s north node and its current link with the Part of Death. The north node is a signifier of groups, associations, and efforts toward achievement that may, at this time, involve beliefs about death and the afterlife, the death of a condition, or a psychological shift that must take place. Unfortunately, it may also point to an act of terrorism. The sun/moon midpoint sits atop Saturn in the house of transformation which may be a harbinger of depression and loneliness or bring shared suffering, illness, or separation from the community, or from a partner through divorce.

Juno, goddess (and treasurer) of marriage is partnered with Neptune which can stir memories of the untimely death of a spouse, the mysterious disappearance of a lover, or an incarcerated partner and the experience which left the imprint of guilt, hopelessness, and despair. As the boundary keeper, she reminds you to demand a soul mate alliance who offers compassion, support for your dreams, and who won’t go missing when life gets real.

Further emphasis is on a fated point of action tied to friends, groups, or counseling that joins the Pleiades star cluster and prompts “something to cry about.” This can pertain to an actual death, but may suggest an overwhelming financial responsibility left from someone who’s passed, the end of probate, excessive tax burden, or inheritance issues.

This moon’s intensity is meant to inspire the ardor necessary for all new beginnings. It provides the impetus to move forward, to overcome inertia and change the status quo. The keyword for this cycle is gaining which indicates that despite any roadblocks, the movement is forward and that some will attract admirers and gain honor and advancement. In whatever direction the line of energy is applied, power and success are the result.
