Dear Scorpio, carrying all the weight, whatever it is, is killing you. You can’t shoulder the load of a relationship by yourself. Perhaps workaholic tendencies are a form of avoidance of what you’d rather not deal with, namely, your emotions. But unexpressed feelings, and unsatisfied needs and desires only creates more tension that sooner or later will take you the breaking point.
On the other hand, maybe you’re taking on a disproportionate amount of blame for the problems in your partnership. The tendency to operate in people-pleasing mode is dulling your desire for what you want or what you want to do for yourself. But if you’re completely honest (and why wouldn’t you be at this point) a fanatical belief that you’re on a mission or that you’re more qualified, efficient, or capable than a partner is the reason you might be left holding the bag. If you credit your partner with enough trust to do their fair share–they just might. Either focus on the positive or you positively need to let it go–the matter or the relationship. When you close the door on it, something more favorable and encouraging can open.
Either way, you’re under some intense pressure to make some changes. Whether single or coupled, you might be resistant to making this transformation. The shift begins when you stop blowing matters out of proportion with your hang up for attaching unnecessary significance to the trivial. Your own doubts could be making you defensive but learn not to sweat the small stuff and you won’t create more problems in your mind than really exist.
Positively, you may relocate with a partner or meet a love when you transfer to another job, department, or city. It’s also possible that you and your mate are diligently working on mutual goals together. Just be sure that the objective doesn’t overshadow the relationship.
