Daily Tarot: Two of Cups

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”  Elizabeth Barrett Browning

You may be taking stock of your connections and evaluating the merits or your alliances. Perhaps you are sharing common interests with others and working to establish a mutual rapport. This may take the form of working together to close a business deal or entering into a contract or agreement. Greater social opportunities could also open the door for romantic possibilities or at least the chance to relate on a deep emotional level.  If you’ve experienced difficulties in a relationship, your willingness to compromise can heal the situation.

However, there’s always that pesky, thin line between love and hate to consider as you keep score. Some events may arouse your suspicion about the intentions of the other party. It could be that you’re looking for love in all the wrong places. Perhaps a void you’re trying to fill in the desire for love, companionship, validation, acceptance, security–caused you to make choices against your better judgment. Consequently, you may be irritated that your needs have been disregarded. In this case, it’s very likely that you will not see eye to eye with another person about the decision to follow a particular course of action. In fact, you may even feel marginalized by someone you once thought you couldn’t get along without.  Incompatibility, violations of trust, rejection or inequity may be the catalyst for such rifts.  It’s also possible that negative expectations concerning partnership have become a a self-fulfilling prophecy.
