Daily Tarot: Eight of Cups

“Let me tell you this:  if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it’s not because they enjoy solitude. It’s because they’ve tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them.” — Jodi Picault

“You oughta know by now. You can pay Uncle Sam with the overtime. Is that all you get for your money? If that’s what you have in mind, if that’s what you’re all about, good luck movin’ up ’cause I’m moving out…” A flashback to Billy Joel’s lyrics says it all. What do you want your ideal life to look like? What was once so shiny and bright may have worn to a dim luster by now. You are walking away and moving on from situations and habits that have outlived their usefulness. A sobering epiphany helps you to suddenly realize that in some area of life you haven’t been making the most of yourself. It’s time to move on to new interests and leave the disappointments of the past behind. Today, you make peace with yourself and slay the demons you’ve been wrestling with, perhaps for years. Fortunately, you discover that it may be easier than first thought to save something, take charge of it, or walk away if necessary. But just because you’re moving on, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you know where you’re headed. Until you figure that out, the battle may be won, but the war is not over.
